PISD Special Programs Institute 2026

Participants will gain valuable insight into Special Education Operating Procedures.  This useful resource will answer many questions that come up regarding how to handle situations in special education. 

Overview of district and community services available to general education and special needs students and families of PISD. Informative session of support provided at campus level, district level and specific resources in community that assist the psychosocial needs of children and youth. Session will highlight resources in health, mental health, social and long-term services along with updated/new programs.

Some student struggle with play and leisure time. Learn how to teach social leisure skills for individuals on the Autism Spectrum by utilizing structure, visual and turning any activity into a teaching experience.
